Frequently Asked Questions, Answered!

Dr. Vidya and Dr. Sandberg are both dentists in Marlton who believe in helping individuals meet their smile goals. At the South Jersey Center for Dental Medicine, we want to keep our dentistry patients happy, comfortable, and informed, so whether you are a new or prospective dental patient who simply wants to learn more about the field and what we have to offer, you will find a list of common questions below. We’ve provided insightful answers to help you determine the best path for your dental health and look forward to answering any additional questions you might have along the way. As always, you are welcome to contact our dental office to schedule an appointment or inquire further about our available dentistry services.

How much does a dental checkup and teeth cleaning cost in Marlton?

It is not uncommon for a typical dental checkup and teeth cleaning to cost between $200 and $350. Why so expensive? It is during this visit that you will undergo a thorough checkup by Dr. Sandberg who will look for signs of decay, disease, and even oral cancer as well as have one of our dental hygienists remove any hardened plaque and tartar from your teeth and gums. Although it sounds simple and straightforward, the process also includes taking dental X-rays and discussing a possible treatment plan to address more complex care should you need it.

Fortunately, if you have dental insurance, these visits are often covered at 80-100%. If you are uninsured, you can take advantage of our Oral Health Savings Plan that offers discounts on dental treatments for one annual enrollment fee.

How much does it cost to get a tooth pulled without dental insurance?

If you learn you need to have a tooth pulled but do not have dental insurance, don’t forgo treatment. Oftentimes, if your dentist is recommending a tooth extraction it is because it is the last resort in an attempt to save your oral health and smile.

On average, these procedures can cost anywhere from $150 to $400, but it can depend on the location of your dentist’s office, the type of tooth extraction you’ll need (simple or surgical), and the type of tooth being removed. Wisdom tooth extractions are often more expensive because they require an oral surgeon to perform the procedure. However, if you are having a regular tooth removed, you can opt to enroll in a low or no-interest payment plan through CareCredit or Wells Fargo Healthcare Advantage. These allow you to break up the cost of dental treatment into manageable payments and stay within your budget.

Can you just walk into a dentist’s office?

Technically, yes, you can, but you shouldn’t expect to receive dentistry services that same day. Most dental offices operate on a schedule and require new and current dental patients to call and make an appointment. Dr. Sandberg and our dentistry team near Voorhees believe in providing every individual the necessary time to express concerns, ask questions, and better understand their treatment plan. The best way to accomplish this is to call our dental office and inquire about any available time to see our dentistry team. With convenient hours designed to meet your needs, you don’t have to worry about taking off work or pulling your kids out of school early to make it to your appointment. Instead, our early morning, late evening, and weekend appointments make it easy to stay on top of your and your family’s oral health.

How do I get emergency dental care?

The most important thing to know is if you are suffering a life-threatening injury to call 911 immediately. If you’re suffering from a knocked-out tooth, a severe toothache, a chipped or broken tooth, a lost dental crown or filling, or a soft tissue laceration, you should instead call our dental office near Mt Laurel and alert a member of our team to your situation. At South Jersey Center for Dental Medicine, we know finding a “dentist near me” who can quickly see you when an emergency occurs isn’t always easy. Fortunately, we’ll work to schedule an appointment on the same day as your accident. If we are unable to do so, we’ll provide you with step-by-step instructions on what to do at home until you are able to get in for an appointment.

Once in our dental office, our dentistry team will work quickly to eliminate immediate symptoms, which will, in turn, allow us to perform more conservative and minimally invasive procedures to get you back on your feet in less time.

“Hands down the best dentist out there! He keeps you informed at all times and lets you decide unlike other dentists who just do what they want. He fixed my front tooth and you can't even tell which one was fixed.”

Complete Dental Implants

Placement & Restoration

Missing teeth are important to replace ... even if they don't show when you smile. Studies show that you are at a greater risk of losing more teeth when there are unreplaced teeth. Dental implants are the solution to missing teeth that you have been looking for. They can be used to replace a single tooth, several teeth, or an entire arch of teeth. They are impervious to tooth decay, preserve the bone in your jaws that shrinks when your natural tooth is lost, and will never need root canal treatment. Dental implants are very versatile and can even be used to tighten your loose dentures.
